If you have any fragile plants or trees in your yard, you’ll want to take measures to protect them. You can place bins or boxes over flower beds. For trees that need protection, talk to your contractor in advance to make them aware. You can also tie a ribbon around any trees that need special care.
Lay down tarps and blankets over the grassy areas of your lawn as well as over your outdoor tubs or pools. The purpose of the tarps is to catch any errant nails, roofing shingles and other debris from the installation. This will make cleanup a little bit easier.
Cover your driveway with protective plywood to keep the pavement dent-free throughout the installation project.
